Soft Skills on the Green Labor Market

It is an initiative aimed at strengthening soft skills among those entering the labor market, with a particular focus on the green economy sector. The project responds to the adaptation challenges posed to the education and training system by the dynamically evolving work environment, while emphasizing the importance of education in the area of green transformation.

Soft Skills on the Green Labour Market (SOG)

Building people skills for a climate-smart economy. We help young people (16–26) and trainers thrive in a labour market reshaped by the green transition, circular economy and digitalisation.

  • Focus: VET, soft skills for green jobs
  • Audience: youth 16–26, trainers/educators, schools & NGOs
  • Countries: PL · LT · SK · BG

About the project

The green transition is changing job profiles, technologies and collaboration. Alongside technical qualifications, employers prioritise collaboration, communication, resilience, problem-solving, systems thinking and a sustainability mindset. SOG turns these soft skills into concrete, teachable and assessable competencies linked to real workplaces—through short, engaging learning experiences connected to local green challenges.

Objectives

  • Empower young people with in-demand soft skills for green jobs and internships.
  • Upskill trainers with learner-centred, inclusive methods and ready-to-use resources.
  • Provide a digital backbone via the SoftSkills App for microlearning and blended delivery.
  • Share practice across partners and local ecosystems to strengthen VET responsiveness.

Who is it for?

  • Young people (16–26): students and recent graduates of vocational/technical schools who want to boost employability in green sectors.
  • Trainers & educators: VET teachers, youth workers and facilitators seeking modern methods and content.
