GreenSport 2030 — Transforming Grassroots Sports

About the Project

GreenSport 2030 connects partners from Portugal, Slovenia, Poland, Croatia, Cyprus and Türkiye to make grassroots sports greener, smarter and more inclusive.

The project develops the AI-powered GreenSport Hub—a digital platform that helps sports clubs and municipalities monitor and reduce their environmental footprint across energy, water, waste and mobility. Training, pilot actions and policy dialogues ensure sustainable change that lasts.

Goals

  • Reduce the environmental impact of clubs via circular economy (reuse, repair, exchange).
  • Digitalize sustainability management through real‑time tracking in the GreenSport Hub.
  • Build skills with workshops, e‑learning and a simple certification pathway.
  • Engage decision‑makers so green criteria enter sports funding and regulations.
  • Promote inclusion & equality—actively involving women and Roma trainers.

Our Role in Poland

As Zielone Śląskie, we lead Work Package 4 — Training & Certification. We design and deliver national workshops and online courses on green, inclusive sports management, build the GreenSport Champions network, and coordinate certification for clubs and coaches. We also support pilots of the GreenSport Hub with two partner clubs from Silesia and convene a Decision‑Maker Focus Group to advance policy adoption.
